At this time a number of families were moving from Waldo Twp. to the Pioneer area. Two of the Roth daughters were married to two Slagle brothers. The Slagle family was one of the families making the move to OH. Benjamin and Susan, along with their two unmarried daughters, Barbara and Martha, accompanied their two married daughters, Saloma and Emma Slagle to Northwestern OH. This decision caused pain within the fmily and resulted in a separation from which the family has never fully recovered.
