    BAX, Barend Adriaan (Art) - October 24, 1941 - November 7, 2018
Psalm 46:10 - "Be still and know that I am God"
God in his wisdom and time, took unto himself Barend Adriaan Bax in his 78th year. Son of Jacob Cornelius (1999) and Adriana (Verhoog) (1996) Bax. Beloved husband of Barbara Bax (nee Bruinsma). Caring father of Ron Bax, Anita (Jim) Sukenik, Terry (Pamela) Bax and Dave Bax (Kendra Lowry). Proud Pake to Teo Blaikie (Kirsten Timpany), Cole Blaikie, David (Alexia) Sukenik, Michael Sukenik (Amanda Brooks), Sarah (Joseph) Mohr, Rachel Bax, Brendan Bax, Liam Bax, Charly Bax and Dannah Bax. Survived by his siblings and their spouses Margaret Herfst, Ruth Bax, Gertie Wielhouwer, Jean (Pete) VanHelden, Clarence (Lorraine) Bax, Bernie (Tina) Bax, Hank (Margriet) Bax, Herb (Janette) Bax and Frits (Jan) Bax. Art will be missed by his siblings-in-law Lucy (Bun) Wright, Siebe (Kathy) Bruinsma and Hilda (Jack) Orange along with many dear nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Jim (1994), sisters Joanne Vanderploeg (1998) and Mary Hummelen (2013), brothers-in-law Bert Hummelen (1975), Bill VanderPloeg (1995), Albert Herfst (2011) and Adrian Wielhouwer (2014), niece Tracy Zwiers (2010) and nephew Paul Herfst (2016). Art was a man of faith and integrity. He was a selfless provider; practical to a fault. Throughout his life he served the CRC as a Cadet Councillor, Elder and Treasurer as well as a board member at Trillium Village. Art was a skilled photographer, woodworker, seed producer, egg producer and an avid golfer. He loved the simple pleasures of life: mowing his own lawn, watching sports on TV, road trips throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe, golfing with a buddy, a rye & Coke, a game of euchre and watching a cardinal feed in the backyard birdhouse. Recently, Art shared that he had done everything in life that he had hoped to. We miss him deeply. Thank you to the L.H.S.C- Victoria Campus, Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, VON, CCAC, VHA, Bossons Pharmacy and Denning’s Funeral Home for their incredible support. Friends will be received on Sunday, November 11th, 2018 at Westmount Christian Reformed Church, 405 Drury Lane, Strathroy; from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., where the Funeral Service will take place on Monday, November 12th, 2018 at 1 p.m.; visitation an hour prior.
