BAX: "Saved by Grace" in full assurance of her salvation, the Lord called Home his child Adriana Bax on Sunday, June 9, 1996 in her 92nd year at Meadow Park Nursing home, Chatham. Born in Zwanenburg, Holland, daughter of the late Cornelis Verhoog and the former Johanna Slegers. Beloved wife of Jack Bax of Chatham; dear mother of Joanne VanderPloeg, Mary Hummelen, Margaret and Albert Herfst all of Chatham, Ruth Bax of Mount Forest, Gertie and Adrian Wielhouwer of Owen Sound, Jean and Peter VanHelden of Chatham, Clarence and Lorraine Bax of Thornhill, Art and Barb Bax of Cargill, Bernard and Tina Bax of Sarnia, Hank and Margriet Bax of Thamesford, Herb and Janette Bax of Thunder Bay, Fred Bax of Toronto. Loving grandmother of thirty-seven grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren. Loving sister of Margaret Slegers of Blenheim, Marijke Herfst and Ger Verhoog of Holland. Predeceased by a son Jim Bax (1994), sons-in-law Bert Hummelen (1975) and Bill VanderPloeg (1995), one sister and four brothers. Prior to her marriage Mrs. Bax was an organist in Holland for ten years and was the organist for First Christian Reformed Church for thirty years before retiring in 1985. She was also a participant in many activities of her church. Friends will be received at the Murray Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham on Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 12, 1996 at First Christian Reformed Church, Tweedsmuir Avenue East, Chatham at 1:30 pm with Rev. Sid Sybenga officiating. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Contributions to Meals on Wheels or the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee would be appreciated.
