Barbara Kennedy On November 29, 2010

BARBARA LOUISE (KAZEMBA) KENNEDY was born on August 20, 1929, in Worthington, Minnesota, the daughter of Ralph and Frieda (Morgan) Beal. She attended country school in Round Lake and later graduated from Round Lake High School in 1947. Barbara was united in marriage to Marvin Kazemba on October 3, 1950 in Brewster. They made their home in Sioux Valley. Marvin passed away on April 24, 1982. She continued living in Sioux Valley and was later united in marriage to Robert Kennedy on February 21, 1998. She moved into Keelson Harbour in January of 2010. On November 27, 2010, Barbara passed away after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 6 days.

Barbara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Sioux Valley. She was confirmed there on April 1, 1951. She served as a choir director there for over 30 years. She loved to garden and be outdoors. She enjoyed music, quilting, cross-stitching, dancing, and being with her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 12 years, Robert Kennedy of Spirit Lake, Iowa, children, Diane (Rick) Schaefer of Fairmont, Dale (Jayne) Kazemba of Sioux Valley, Duane (Lenora) Kazemba of Sioux Valley, and LeAnn (Stan) Pohlman of Sioux Valley, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sister Betty (Russell) Anderson of Round Lake, brother Stanley Beal of Round Lake, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and In-Laws.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Frieda Beal, first husband, Marvin Kazemba, and an infant brother, Charles Beal.

Barbara L. (Kazemba) Kennedy, 81, of Spirit Lake, Iowa formally of Sioux Valley, Minnesota, passed away on November 27, 2010, in Spirit Lake, IA. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 10:30 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux Valley. Inurnment will immediately follow at Sioux Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 from 5-7 PM at Osterberg-Hansen Funeral Home in Lakefield and one hour prior to service at church on Wednesday.
