Facts and Events
From Friend family historia LaVerne Mast Fullmer: Banner lived his entire life on the farm half way between Pleasantville and West Rushville, fairfield Co., Ohio. He was one of the progressive farmers of the neighborhood. He attended Fairfield Union Academy at Pleasantville, Ohio and continued to read good books, being especially interested in Hostorical works. His faterh, william, told him much about the early history of the Friends which had been related to him by his father, Joseph H., Jr. When Banner's cousing, William J. Givson, was writing about the Friends, he secured the aid of Banner for his sketch, "The Friends in Ohio". William J. Gibson was relieved of his office of Historian when his eyesight failed. banner was elected to fill his place, and, down through the years he acquired more History each year, which the members eagerly awaited. At the 1933 reunion a motion was adopted requesting Banner to draw up a Friend history and make it available to any interested person. Unfortunately he was in poor health and did not get much done on it. After his death, his niece, LaVerne Mast Fullmer, carried on the work already started. References
