Aylmer A. Winans

CORTLAND - Aylmer A. Winans, 83, 349 N. Mecca St., died at 6 a.m. Tuesday at his home.
He was born July 12, 1900, in Greene, the son of William W. and Edith J Gunn Winans.
A resident here 54 years, Mr. Winans was a member of Cortland Christian Church, county, state and national granges, Waggin Wheel Trailer Club, was a 69-year member of Royal and Mecca Grange and was the last charter member of Cortland Conservation Club.
In 1960, he retired from Richards Milling Co., where he had worked for 37 years. He retired from the state highway department in 1967.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Daugherty Winans, whom he married June 23, 1921; two sons, Harley A. Winans of Warren, Dr. Carl W. Winans of Huron, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Reta Mizner of Kinsman; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A son, Roland, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Shafer-Winans Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greene.
