When Augustin was deported from Acadia to France aboard the Duke William, he left with Charles Benoist (Uncle), Marie Girouard (Aunt), Pierre Benoist (Uncle), and Ositte Pitre. Due to the harsh conditions at sea, 185 passengers died at sea or shortly after arriving. (2) Of those listed, only Augustin and his Aunt Marie survived the trip. Another group of passengers on this trip are his future wife, Francoise Terriot, and her family.
