Audrey V. EMEIGH was the only child of Matilda (HUNTER) EMEIGH and Charles P. EMEIGH. She was born January 28, 1898, in Brooklyn, NY, to 22-year-old parents. The family lived at 481 Gates Avenue; Charles worked in advertising at the time. Audrey was age 12 in the 1910 census (born about 1898 in NY) and was living with her parents and a 90-year old widow boarder on Jefferson Ave., Brooklyn, NY. Audrey could read and write, but was not employed. The 1900 census gives Matilda and Charles daughter’s name as Thelma and her DOB as Jan 1898 (= age 2). The year of birth of Thelma and Audrey, thus, are identical. It appears that Matilda and Charles switched the name of their daughter from Thelma to Audrey. Audrey’s birth certificate was a delayed document generated after 1916; this document gives her name as Audrey Victoria. Documents used to support the generation of this delayed certificate included: parents marriage certificate; baptism certificate; 1900 Federal Census; and her Junior High School registration. Her baptism certificate showed that she was baptized 2/24/1916 in the Church of St. John of God. She attended Junior High School No. 35, Brooklyn, in 1906. I could not find her in later records.
