History of Stony Brook Township Louis O Foss p 206-207 Asle E Dybdal came to Stony Brook in 1878 and bought land on which he settled with his wife and one son, Ellend, as stated above. The following children have been born to Mr. and Mrs Dybdal since coming to Stony Brook; Andrine, Emma, Theofore, annette, Albert, Lina, Ottina, henrietta, Tenny, Arthur, and Joseph. Like the rest of the Dybdal family, he has all the characteristics common to that prominent family - honesty and square dealing. Mr. Asle Dybdal is one of the foremost of that family, and the writer can safely say that he is one of the foremost men of Stony Brook. He is a resident of Wendell now, but was identified with township and county affairs so long that should his name be left out of Stony Brook Saga it would be very incomplete. Mr. Dybdal was fortunate in having his farm where it is, and still more fortunate in securing 40 acres of land reaching right into the heart of that lively mart, Wendell, and in farming his holdings to advantage, Mr Dybdal is now one of Wendell's wealthy men. Mr Dybdal and his excellent wife well deserve the fruits of their labor and foresight. He bought wheat at the Farmers' Warehouse several seasons and always to the satisfaction of the farmers. He was elected and re-elected assessor of Stony Brook for many years and served as county commissioner for many years with efficiency and judgement. References
