  4. ↑ It is sometimes reported the Asahel's birth occurred in Dudley, but the Jewell Register does not explicitly identify where, and based on information found in Source:Doherty, Frank J. Settlers of the Beekman Patent, Dutchess County, New York, Vol. 7, p. 203, his father was taxed in Beekman until Feb 1746/7. The first record in Dudley is the baptism of sister Mary in 1747, about a year after she was born.
