- ↑ No marriage record has been found, and the marriage location is not identified. It appears that the cited Jewell Register is generally accepted. The author is a great-grandson, so one would expect family records, but it is not identified, nor has it been discovered. For example, Source:Doherty, Frank J. Settlers of the Beekman Patent, Dutchess County, New York, Vol. 7, p. 203, repeats the same date with no source, adding "it is probable that Archibald Jewell and Rebecca married here", meaning at Beekman. This indicates he did not find a record, and the guess at location is his assumption based on the Leonard family being there by 1738. At one point, Doherty cites MFFG p. 2:60, but that is merely a listing of the Leonard family and does not mention Archibald Jewell at all. Neither does the updated version, p. 15:66.
