"No. 1073 III D. Enoch Thayer ... married Rebecca Curtiss ... 3. Asa, born 28 June, 1873" "No. 1075 III E Asa Thayer. Third child of Enoch and Rebecca Thayer, married Polly Hill, 12 October, 1796, by Rev. Mr. Read. Settled in Burwick, Mass. Merchant." [Note: Numerous obvious errors in this entry from a generally unreliable work raise serious doubts about any information not separately verified. Birth year of 1873 is an obvious typo, other siblings in 1770's, but even still, no birth record found. Birth in 1773 is consistent with age at death. Obviously Burwick is typo meaning Warwick, and marriage records found in Warwick are 1797, not 1796, to Polly Mayo, not Polly Hill, by Rev. Reed, not Rev. Read.]
