  4. No direct evidence has been found showing the parentage of Mary. She is called "Miss Mary R. Thayer of Warwick" in the marriage record. There is a birth of Mary Rawson Thayer in Mendon in 1803 to Asa and Mary Thayer, presumably Asa Thayer and Mary Murdock who lived there. She married Bela Pardee, by virtually every source covering this family. This appears to rule her out.
In 1824, both of the parents proposed here had died, so it would not be surprising that a daughter of theirs might be in Warwick living with her grandparents, and the middle initial R probably stands for the maiden name of her grandmother, making her named after that woman.
