Obituary, Oneonta Sun, October 20, 1955 Asa E. Barley Asa E. Barley, 68, of 7 West Ann St., died Tuesday morning when en route from Kortright to Oneonta by automobile on a business trip. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Lewis Funderal Home, 51 Dietz St. The Rev. Roswell Lyon, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Mr. Barley was born June 8, 1887, son of Anthony and Naomi (Quick) Barley. He married Anna Agnes Dykeman Oct. 27, 1910, in Margaretville. He had live in Oneonta since 1937, and prior to that time in the Oneonta vicinity for 20 years. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Earl C. of Morris, Edward S. of Burlington, and Leonard L., of Anson, Panama Canal Zone; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Kelsey, Utica, and Nina Colyer, West Oneonta; a brother, Benjamin Barley, Fleishmanns; a sister, Mrs. Frank Wayman, Cobleskill; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a great-grandchild.
