Arthur attended the Gilbert Home in Winsted Ct. from 12

January, 1924 to 27 June, 1926. The papers that admitted him seem to have been misplaced. Judy and I spoke with a Mrs. Robin at the Gilbert School office. We hope that she will be on the lookout for them.

I remember my father telling me that he was a machinist

by trade. I think he may have gone back to the Danbury area after he left the Gilbert Home in Winsted. I do not know how long he stayed in the Danbury area before

He lived at various locations in the Hartford, Ct. area

before he was married in 1932.

The case for divorce between Arthur and Viola was Case

No. 72827-J, the Judge was Hon. John M. Comely. The divorce was 27 December, 1945.

After the divorce, Arthur lived at various locations in

the Hartford, Ct. area before he married Elizabeth Ann Corbin. After they got married, they moved to 39 hilltop Dr. in West Hartford Ct.

Arthur enlisted in the Connecticut State Guard, Troop B

Cavalry as a Private on 28 October, 1943. He was upgraded to Private 1st. class on 7 July, 1944. He was at an encampment at Morway Farm and Camp Baldwin in Niantic, Connecticut from 30 July to 5 August, 1944. I think he was upgraded to Sgt. Gr. II on 7 May, 1945. He had field training 21-27 July, 1946 and 29 July to 7 August, 1946. He was honorably discharged on 9 October, 1946 and his de-activation was effective 17 October, 1946.

The Governors Horse Guard, Troop B, was located on Avon

Mountain on Ferncliff Drive. The area has now become residential. I think that he went into the U.S. Army. He served for a while in Panama.
