Arthur Maitland, 71, native of Sycamore, died Saturday morning at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, after an extended illness. His body arrived in Sycamore Sunday and is resting at the Coultrip Funeral Home, where friends may call. The final services are to be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the local funeral home, with Rev. Clarence Diercks of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place in the Ohio Grove cemetery.
He was born in Sycamore and was the son of the late Mr.s and Mrs. Walter Maitland. He was a molder by trade and had been employed in Rockford for some 40 years. Since the death of his wife, three years ago, he has been residing at the home of his son, Kenneth Maitland, in Arlington Heights.

Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur J. Maitland, 73, of 1714 Hancock street, Rockford, a former Genoa resident, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rockford. She passed away at the Rockford Memorial Hospital, following a stroke suffered on May 30.
The Rev. Norman Burke, pastor of the Immanuel Episcopal Church officiated and burial took place in Sycamore.
Mrs. Maitland, the former "Birdie" Oursler, was born in Genoa on January 28, 1880, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Oursler. On December 7, 1910, she married Arthur J Maitland of Sycamore. Since 1915 their home has been made in Rockford.
Surviving are her husband, a daughter, <living> of Rockford and a son, <living>, of Chicago.
