Arthur Beatty [p. 48 of Vol. I on Crossle's notes.] Will Will dated April 8, 1741:

"In order to avoid disputes which may hereafter arise in my family I make this my will. To my son, William Beatty twenty ? year old billocks? and a black 3 year old filly of the bald mare's and one bay colt, also a bet and one large Oval Table that I brought out of the county of Longford. Also 6 chairs and two pots, and also that part of the lands of farrenseer now possessed by me adjoining William Scott's land as same as now bounded from Cornesean Lough to the Lough of Arnagh, he the said William paying half the rest of Faranseer as in the lease of said lands perfected to one by Arthur Hamilton of Castle Hamilton, Try. To my son David Beatty my dwelling house and other ??? houses together with the remaining part of the lands of Farrenseer, subject to the rents of said lands of Farrarenseer an also my title and interest in the lands of Arnagh and Blonlaskon, together with the residue of my goods and chattles, except as bequeathed above to my son William, and also leave to son David all debts due to me. My dearly beloved wife to be maintained for her life by my son David. Whereon my son John "hath been disobedient and behaved in such manner as he is not intitled to my favour" therefore to my son John ???. I appoint James Young of Ormgone, my son-in-law William Trimble, and my son David ???, and my said son-in-law and son David to act by the discretion of Mr. James Young. In witness whereof 8 April 1741. Family Stories “John’s father was John Beattie who was born between 1711 and 1718. Place of birth was in Ulster County in Ireland. John’s father disinherited him in his will and he immigrated to America. He came to Maryland but migrated to a place called Ebbing Springs which was close to Glade springs, Virginia. He was a commissary General under George Washington during the Revolutionary War. He died August 18, 1790 in Washingon County, Virginia.
