"WILBER, HIRAM, was born in South Hero, Vermont, May 20, 1806. His father's farm bordered on Lake Champlain; consequently, his early life was spent on its historic shores. He married Armenia Holester [sic] at Grand Isle, Vermont. They moved west settling in the wilds of southern Michigan. They left there because of the sickness and disaster in the malarial infested scourge of that region. They then moved to Kingsville, in Ashtabula County, and on to Pennsylvania. The Wilbers arrived in Bazetta Mar. 20, 1840, the parents of eleven children. Mar. 1, 1865, Armenia died."
