Arlene M. Jones, 82, of 3926 Main St., Slatedale, died Thursday, Sept. 26, in her home. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Jones.
She was a head cook for the Northern Lehigh School District for about 10 years until retiring. Before that she was a sewing machine operator at the former Holiday Fashions, Slatedale, for many years.
Born in Lehigh Furnace, she was a daughter of the late Charles Charles and Lena Walters.
She was an inspector for the Lehigh County Election Board for about 50 years and head cook for the Slatedale Volunteer Fire Company for many years.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Slatedale, and served on its council for several terms.
Survivors: Daughter, Gail, wife of Paul Horner of Slatedale; sisters, Delores Beck of Palm Springs, Calif., Mary Clause of Coopersburg, Pauline Schuyler of Bethlehem, Cleora Henning of West Alice, Wis., and Berdelle Follweiler of Friedens; brothers, Edward Charles of Fullerton and E. Thomas Charles of Bethlehem; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
