SPRINGFIELD - Arlene Louise Seabolt, 68, of Springfield passed away on March 4, 2010, at Heritage Manor surrounded by her family.

Arlene was born May 17, 1941, in Evergreen Park, the daughter of Norman Roy and Shirley Jane Kelch Camit. She married Carroll "Carl" Seabolt on November 27, 1961, in Chicago.

After earning her certificate in accounting, Arlene worked for various businesses as an accounting clerk in Chicago and South Holland areas. Arlene was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother.

She was a big Cubs and Blackhawks fan, an avid reader and book collector of English, history and mysteries. She was a strong supporter of veterans and was an IVBD corresponding secretary for six years. She was also an accomplished genealogist.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman; a sister, Maria Elena Kral; her cat, Heather; and her dog, Copper. She is survived by her husband, Carl of Springfield; a son, Carl Roy (wife, Dee) Seabolt of Hammond, IN; two daughters, Sharon Kaye (husband, Jon) Thaxton of Sherman and Janet Louise (husband, Jay) Goetsch of Rochester; her mother, Shirley Camit of Darien; six grandchildren, Amanda Thaxton, James Thaxton, Emily Goetsch, Andrew Goetsch, Samantha Seabolt and Sarah Seabolt; three sisters, Bette Jane Camit of Darien, Gwendolyn Camit Lemons of Orlando, FL and Sara Kaye (companion Jim Bamberg) Sprock of Dittmer, MO; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her cat, Daisy.
