Archibald Swinton was the son of John Swinton, 26th of that Ilk and Mary Semple.2 He married Henrietta Blythswood, daughter of James DOUGLAS OF MAINS later CAMPBELL OF Blythswood, in 1776.1 He died in 1804, with four daughters:.1
He was Captain in the Honourable East India Company Service.1 Berwickshire.1 He lived Kimmerghame (which he eventually sold) and Manderston.1
