Archibald may have first married Elizabeth Dunning (or perhaps she was the second wife of his father) and then Martha (Patty or Patsy) Spencer.They definitely lived in the Johnny Mac Brook area just south of Orono. They had ten children, the second of whom was John McPheters, b. 22 June1793.

Note: he is also reported in Bangor Hist. Magazine to have been married to Elizabeth Dunning.
