Mary, thank for clearing up the source of the name Aquilla. I had a bit of problem believing it was Spanish since there was little or no Spanish influence in Colonial America on the eastern side. I am desended from the John and Sarah Greers through Aquilla I and his son Solomon. I am working on filling in the gaps between Solomon (Barren Co., Kentucky) and my family in Missouri. A second cousin recently provided a large amount of material covering this period but I am not yet ready to make it available. I have three dates for Aquilla I, all from Ralph Terry. Besides the 29 Jul, 1737 birth date, a relative of mine, Mrs. Ellen A. Fawcett of N. Little Rock, Ark. provided a date of 1740. There is also an entry of Jan, 29, 1737 in the Wataga Co. Heritage Book, number 294 per Roy Eaton. It could be problem of reading the handwritting on the month that is causing some confusion since the 29th is mentioned in two cases.
