Anne Karine was always called "Annie" . She emigrated from Norway on March 11, 1904, at the age of 20 and went to Mabel, Fillmore Co., MN. I believe there were Grøtberg relatives living there. She traveled with a Karen Olafsen Myrvold, 18 yrs. old, on the ship Montebello. Their final destination was listed as Boston but I've been told that the Montebello was only a "feeder" ship that traveled back and forth to Hull, England. From there, passengers took a train to Liverpool where they boarded a ship to America. I haven't searched the records yet to find out which ship she arrived in America on. Oscar Hagen followed her to Mabel in October of 1904 and they were married there.

April 25, 2002: While at the WI Historical Society in Madison, WI I found Anne Grotberg listed on the Saxonia arriving in Boston on March 25, 1904.

July 25, 2002: I went to the Mormon library in Oakdale, MN today to look at film # 1404204 (Boston Passenger Lists-1891-1920) and found her name on the Saxonia passenger list. She indicated she was going to Canton, MN to join "friend Peder Grotberg whose sister is with her". The sister must be the Karen Olafsen Myrvold she left Norway with. Karen's name appeared as a witness on Annie's marriage license and her name looked like it was spelled Mynvold.
