    DALY, An, d. Thomas, [born] Sept. 16, 1682. CT.R.
[See note on why this is thought to be Ann Daby.]

  3. The Find A Grave memorial claims she is the daughter of Thomas Daby and Mary Browne. No such birth record is found, no such child is attributed to them by Source:Bromley, Viola A. Derby. Derby Genealogy : Being a Record of the Descendants of Thomas Derby of Stow, Massachusetts, p. 15. However, it does suggest that the father "may have been" the Thomas Daby who joined the Salem church, and Salem records (p.1:230) do show the birth of a "An Daly" on 16 Sep 1682 to a father named Thomas. Source:Perley, Sidney. History of Salem, Massachusetts, p. 3:175 says Thomas Daley had An, b. 1682, Mary, b. 1685, and on p. 3:176 says Thomas Daby of Salem had Elizabeth bp. 1684, Mary bp. 1685. Mary seems to be the key, assuming her birth is registered as Daly in 1685 and baptized under Daby in 1685.
