Anna Mae (Ziegler) Burns, 92, a resident of Sanatoga Ridge Community for the last four years, formerly of Harleysville, passed away December 30, 2017 at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville. She and her husband, J. Blaine Burns, Jr., celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on October 20 of last year.
Born November 10, 1925 in Towamencin Twp., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ella Mae (Ruth) Ziegler. Prior to retirement, she was employed with Philco-Ford for 38 years.
Mrs. Burns was a long-time member of Berean Bible Church in Pottstown. She enjoyed knitting, tole painting, and playing card and board games. She loved traveling and had taken over 100 bus trips.
In addition to her husband, she is survived a son, Douglas A. Burns and his wife, Elaine, of Pennsburg; three grandchildren, Douglas A. Burns, Jr., Jason A. Burns and Marina N. Fillman; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by four siblings, Ruth Shade, Ernest Ziegler, Gladys York and Donald Ziegler.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Paul Ziegler, Norman Ziegler, Florence Gehman and Jake Ziegler.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 10:30AM on January 5, 2018 at Berean Bible Church, 2675 E. High St., Pottstown, where family will receive friends for the viewing beginning at 9:30AM. Burial will follow at Lower Skippack Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements are by Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., of Franconia Twp.
