- ↑ Although a daughter Ann, age 11, is listed among passengers going to New England in 1635, in his will dated 7 Sep 1665, Simon Stone does not mention a daughter Ann, nor any heirs. Thus, the presumption of sources like Source:Bartlett, J. Gardner. Simon Stone Genealogy is to say she "evidently died before her father without issue and probably unmarried." Without implying any marriage, Anderson points out that people have been confused that the will of Lewis Jones dated 1678/[9?] mentions wife Ann and names "loving friend & brother John Stone" as overseer, leading some to think Ann Stone m. Lewis Jones. However, the wife Anna of Lewis Jones d. 1680 aged 78 so is not of the right age. Bond says there was "a tradition in the family, that Ann Stone m. ____ Orne, and died early". But Robert Charles Anderson (Great Migration 1634-5, Vol. 6, p. 558) tracks this tradition down, citing NEHGR, 10:229, and saying daughter Frances marriage first Henry Green, then John Horne (the marriage referenced), and the tradition was not quite accurate. So Anderson merely concludes no further record of Ann after sailing for New England in 1635.
