Anna Louise Schug Byrnes Anna Louise Schug Byrnes died on April 19, 2005 in McLean, Virginia where she had lived for the last 39 years. Anna Louise, born to Everett J. and Ester (Acton) Schug in 1917, graduated from Berne High School in 1935. She met and married Arthur F. Byrnes, a high jumper for Manhattan College in NY whom she met at a track meet. During the war, Arthur taught at officer’s training schools in Fort Riley, Kansas and several bases in Texas where their son, Arthur Everett, was born and was soon joined by Suzana, John Mitchell and Timothy. She was a woman of great energy and intellectual curiosity with strong loyalties towards her roots. She leaves behind her husband of sixty three years, and sons Arthur E. of New York City; John Mitchell, a doctor in Smyrna, Tennessee; and daughter, Suzana of Tewksbury, New Jersey; and eight grandchildren, including granddaughter, Sabrina, who lives in Basel, Switzerland.
