Standard History of Adams and Wells Co 1917c "Everett J. the business associate and partner of his fatherand a young man of great resourcefulness and business enterprise. Finished High School in 1915. He was editor of school newspaper while in school and was also president of his class and various literary organization of the school. For a number of years he associated with his father in the insurance business, learned it in every detail, and has shown unusual ability in pushing insurance work. In January 1917 he was made a partner under the name of Philip Schug & Son."

"Progress of a Decade" Review Edition 1936 "E.J. Schug is a manager of the Schug Insurance Agency, whichis the second oldest fire insurqance agency in Berne. For Many years mr. Schug and his father, the late philip Schug, were engaged in writing all forms of insurance. After the death of the senior Mr. Schug, the son E. J. Schug, continued with the business, havingas his assistant G. O. Stauffer, who has ben with the Schug agency for over five year. At the present time this firm is the sole representative of the Peoples Life Insurance Company of Indiana in Adams county. Miss Edna Liechty, bookeeper, has also been with the agency for a number of years and is well fitted for he position."
