    "Anna, b. 1677; m. Lieut. Matthew Mayhew of Edgartown, b. Nov. 29, 1674; resided at Chilmark, Marthas Vineyard; he d. Apr. 20, 1720, and she d. April 16, 1723, ae. about 46, tombstones at Edgartown. Mr. M. was son of Matthew, grands. of Rev. Thomas Mayhew and g. grands. of Gov. Thomas Mayhew, the first settler of the name on Marthas Vineyard, 1642. In 1756 the children of Matthew and Anna sold their mother's interest in lands at Edgartown which belonged to her as one of the children of Andrew and Anna (Bayes) Newcomb."
