From: A letter to Marie Pemberton, 3 Jan 1991 re: marriage of Mathew Orrell and Ann Huffer

There is no marriage bond on file in Augusta County for Matthew Orrell and Ann Offord [Huffer)]. The only record we have is the minister's return that gives the date of 16 November 1826.

I have enclosed with this a copy of the original minister's return by Benjamin Denton, who was a Methodist minister in Rockingham County.

Index to 1830 Census of Virginia,,by R.V. Jackson Orel: Mathew, in Augusta County, northern part.
