IN MEMORIAM - Anna M. Lawrence, daughter of Henry and Sarah Jane Huddleston, was born in Logan County, Illinois, Dec. 14, 1859, and departed this life at her home in Dublin, Indiana, Feb. 28, 1932, aged 72 years, 2 months, and 14 days. She was converted at the age of twelve and joined the United Brethren Church of Dublin, Indiana, under the labors of Rev. Milo Bailey in the year 1871. She was united in marriage to John B. Ellabarger, Feb. 22, 1880. This union was very short as the death angel came and took her companion away Nov. 17, 1887. On Feb. 2, 1892, she was married to John S. Lawrence of Hartsville, Indiana, and after walking the journey of life together for nearly forty years, he was taken to his reward May 7, 1931. She has also a father, mother, two brothers, Osia and Charles, and one sister Alice who proceeded her in death. The prime of her life was spent as an evangel of the cross under the direction of the United Brethren Church and many lives were turned from darkness to light through her ministry. She was a faithful worker in the church, and her outstanding desire was to lift up Christ. Several weeks of illness and preparedness of heart to meet her Master, quickened her desire to see her eternal home. Several times during her illness she came near the threshold of heaven but was brought back with a message for some relative or friend. She leaves to mourn their loss five brothers: John, William, Elmer, Otto, and Walter, and one sister, Eldora Reid, and a great many other relatives and a host of neighbors and friends.
