Facts and Events
Mrs. Arthur Wolfe died Feb 10, 1920 following a two week illness and pneumonia. She was 31 years, 4 months and 5 days old; & Elmer was 6 years old. Mrs. Anna Wolf, nee Fastenow, died at her home five miles southwest of Chebanse, Tuesday morning, February 10. She had been ill for about two weeks but had helped care for other sick members of the family until her strength failed. She developed pneumonia and in her weakened condition lacked resistance to combat the perilous disease. Deceased was the youngest daughter of Mr. Christ Fastenow and the late Sophia Fastenow of Clifton. Her parents were members of the Lutheran church of Milk's Grove where she attended services with them. She was confirmed in Chebanse, March 27, 1904. On Dec. 20, 1911, she was united in marriage to Mr. Arthur Wolf and lived on a farm southwest of Chebanse until the time of her death. During the Ileocolitis epidemic last summer, the angel of death claimed her beautiful daughter Dorothy. In this great loss and the anxious weeks passed at the bedside of her only remaining child, her early Chrisitian training never forsook her. She bore all her grief and sorrow uncomplainingly and left nothing undone to nurse back to health her little boy. In this she was so ably assisted by her husband, now also stricken with pneumonia. Mrs. Wolf leaves surviving her besides the aboved named stricken husband and son Elmer, her aged father and father-in-law, and two sisters Mrs. Louis Bremer and Mrs. Emil Wolf. She was aged 31 years, 4 mo. and 5 days. Private services took place from the late home on Thursday, Feb 12, at 1:30 o'cok, Rev. Seehausen officiating. (Chebanse Herald) |
