After a lingering illness, Anna Elizabeth Slates, wife of Franklin P. Slates, died Saturday afternoon at 6 o'clock at her home in Loudon Township. She had been an invalid for years and for four years had been wheeled about in a wheel-chair, being unable to walk. Paralysis was the immediate cause of her death.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. C. H. Hernnstein, were held on Monday. Burial was made at Kilgore.
The deceased was born in Loudon Township in 1854, her maiden name being Burrier. Surviving are her husband, three sons -- Homer Slates of Carrollton, and Lewis and Henry Slates of Kilgore -- two daughters -- Mrs. Harry Colar and Mrs. Cora Nutt (Nupp ?) of Kilgore, a sister, Mrs. John Clutz of near Jefferson, three brothers, Edward, Enos (Amos) and Simon Burrier of near Amsterdam, and 11 grandchildren.
