Anne (Welles) (Thompson) Howkins Extended Family and Descendancy
"Anne had raised the children of five different marriages: of her own two marriages, of her second husband by his first wife, and of her brothers John and Samuel, both of whom died young. At some point Anne may have moved her family to Stratford for a while, as the younger children and stepchildren married there. Because Anne raised her own children and those of her brothers John and Samuel, and their descendants remained in the same area, many of their descendants eventually intermarried, resulting in several lineages which descend from as many as three to five of the six children of Gov. Thomas Welles (Nutmegger 30:211-215)."[1]

"Ann, widow of Thomas Thomson and Anthony Howkins, died before October 19, 1680, the date when an inventory of her estate was taken. The property, which consisted wholly of clothing, household goods and other personal estate, at the houses of Samuel Gridley, John Thomson and Thomas Thomson, amounted to £85-09-06, besides £24-03-10 due for rents, etc. The debts of the estate were 'By legacies not yet paid' £52-08-06, 'Due to Thomas Thomson' £04-07-01 and other claims amounting to £04-03-11."
