Ann Sibley's origins have yet to be established. The age quoted when she died implies that she was born around 1734. Her first confirmed sighting is on 14th May 1758, when she was married at Crewkerne in Somerset to James Forsey, who was from the neighbouring parish of Winsham. One of the witnesses to their marriage was a Francis Sibley, who was presumably a relative.

Ann and James settled in Winsham, where they had seven children baptised between 1760 and 1780.

Ann died in 1818 and was buried at Winsham. She was said to be 84 years old.
