    Ann Cary Selden Breckinridge was born 1770 at the "Buckroe" plantation of her father, Wilson Cary Selden and his wife, Elizabeth Jennings.
    She married James Breckinridge on New Year's Day 1791 in St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia.
    James Breckinridge built "Grove Hill" in Botetourt County soon after the marriage. They reared a family of eight children to adulthood.

    Ann Cary Selden Breckinridge died 17 Mar 1843 in her home, "Grove Hill," near Fincastle, Botetourt County, Virginia.
    She was laid to rest beside her husband, in the Breckinridge Family Cemetery on a gentle knoll overlooking the large plantation.
