Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. : Selden, Wilson Cary - entered service 1779 in Loudoun County, Virginia, as surgeon's mate in Marine Hospital, Hampton, Virginia; appointed full surgeon of Virginia artillery regiment in 1780; contracted severe illness & went to sea to recover health, but his ship was captured by British & he was a Prisoner of War until 1782; Loudoun County, Virginia, court clerk made affidavit there in 1828; Thomas Sims made affidavit 1829 in Washington, D.C.., he moved in 1797 to Leesburg, Virginia & knew soldier there; soldier granted Pension age 70 in Loudoun County, Virginia in 1832, per Exeter, per witness John McCormick & County Justice of the Peace John H. McCabe, William Wedderburn made affidavit in Alexandria, Virginia, then that soldier had served in same Revolutionary War Regiment with affiant's helf brother Peter Kemp; soldier died Loudoun County, Virginia, 1843, where he resided, per Alexandria County Justice of the Peace John Grubb & County Court Clerk Cassius F.
