Ann Dingley was baptised on 19th January 1772 at Bishampton in Worcestershire, England, daughter of Mary Dingley, formerly Lane, and her husband Edward Dingley, a wheelwright. Ann was the couple's second child, but her older sister had died as a baby.

The family appears to have moved from Bishampton to the nearby village of Cropthorne, where Ann's father was from. Sadly, Ann died when she was only six years old, being buried at Cropthorne on 8th August 1778.
