ANDREW AND RACHEL EVANS TAGGART WERE MISSOURI STATE PIONEERS.
Andrew Taggart, supposedly a son of James per Bryan's history of Missouri pioneers, but since they were married several years AFTER Andrew was born, this appears to be unfounded unless James had a prior marriage,
Andrew married Rachel 'Irving' in 1820 per North Carolina marriage records. The Bryan history indicates Andrew and Rachel had at least 16 children. At least 2 of their children (Agnes and John) were born in Kentucky before 1829 or 1830 (per 1850 US Census records). Next, Bryan's history indicates Andrew moved to St Charles County, Missouri along with his siblings Sally, Richard, William, and James 'at an early date'. The 1850 US Census shows Andrew's children born after 1833 in Missouri, and that he and some of his children had moved westward to central Missouri in Moniteau or Cole counties.
