Andrew was raised by his sister, Elizabeth Ring Deane, after his mother died.

RING, ANDREW, came from England with a widowed mother, sister Elizabeth, m. Stephen Dean, and perhaps brother William, prob. about 1629, m. Deborah, d. of Stephen Hopkins. 1646. and had William, Eleazer; Mary, m. a Morton; Deborah, Susanna; Elizabeth, 1652, m. a Mayo of Eastham; Samuel. He m., 2d, Lettys, wid. of John Morton.

He was a Proprietor in Plymouth November 2, 1640. Andrew was able to bear arms in 1643 and a Juror in 1650. He became a freeman June 2, 1646. Andrew's will was written December 14, 1691 and probated March 22, 1692/93.

Andrew was one of the first settlers of Middleboro.

His father, William (Wylliam) Ring (Ringe) was born in 1565 in Houghton, Lancaster, England. He died between 1620 and 1629 in Leyden, South Holland, Netherlands. He was married to Mary (Marie) Durrant (Durante) on 21 May 1601 in Ufford, Suffolk, England.

His mother, Mary Durrant Ring, was born before 1589 in Pettistrey, Suffolk, England She immigrated in 1629 to Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts. She sailed to America aboard the second Mayflower in 1629. She died in July 1631 in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts. (Her will was "interesting" - part of it can be read on page 143 of Leon Clark Hill's "History of the Mayflower Planters". Andrew's will is on pp. 143-149 of the same book.)^[10]
