- A. H. MOTT -- LIVERY STABLE
The largest livery stable between New Orleans and Jackson, Miss., is owned by Mr. A. H. Mott, who entered the livery business here eight years ago. He erected his present commodious stable in 1896, and now has as complete a livery as one may find in a town the size of Hammond. With one of Mr. Mott's turnouts, traveling in and around Hammond becames a pleasure, and the visitor can fully enjoy the fine scenery of this section. Mr. Mott also carries a line of harness, saddlery, wagons and carriages. He is agent for Ward, Kent & Co., box manufacturers, Greenfield, Tenn., and does a large business in fruit and vegetable boxes and crates. {Souvenier Album of Hammond, LA; printed about 1898, pps. 20-21}
