p.63 "....Mr. Hettinger was born in Fremont, Ohio, of German parents. His grandfather having a large family, mostly boys, left Germany to escape the militarism of the Kaiser. He was brought up on the farm but in later days he taught school in the west for twenty-five years. They went back to Ohio and bought the old Hettinger homestead."
