[edit] Notes1794 - February 20, 1794, Andrew and Ruth sold Nathan Todd of Edgefield District, SC 200 acres on the Saluda River. Land originally sold to Andrew by George Haig. 1800 - September 8, 1800, Andrew sold William Richardson of Edgefield District, SC 100 acres lying on the Saluda River. The deed called it "the Plantation said Brown last removed from...." Andrew is listed as resident of McIntosh Co, GA in the 1805 and 1807 Georgia land lotteries. He won land lot #320 in the Twentieth District of Baldwin County in the 1807 lottery. This tract of 202 1/2 acres, bisected by Jack's Creek, became part of Morgan County in 1808. 1811 - August 16, 1811 his widow Ruth applied for letters of administration on his estate. 1812 - February 20, 1812, Ruth Brown, widow of Andrew Brown deceased sold to William Richardson their remaining lands on the Saluda River in Edgefield District, "it being the plantation or tract of land where Sd. Brown removed from..." 1812 - December 20, 1812, Ruth married Joseph Morrow, Esq., of Morgan County. In the 1880 census, James Francis Brown, son of Andrew, indicated that his father was born in Scotland. |
