The Boon family was Swedish, and as such the name went through several changes common to the culture and the time. Anders Svensson was born in 1620, Sweden, and came to the colony of New Sweden in 1639-40 on the Kalmar Nyckel, hired in Gothenburg as a laborer at a wage of 5 guilders a month. He later adopted the surname of Bonde, or farmer in Swedish, and was promoted on 1 May 1643 to position of gunner. In 1653 he went back to Sweden but returned on the Mercurius in 1656. By 1660 he had married Anna ?, who had been born in Nya Kopparberget, Ljusnarsbert parish, Obrebro Ian. Then, under English rule, the second syllable of his surname was dropped, so that the name became Boon in most civil records. In 1693 the household included his second son Peter b. 1664), Peter's wife Catharine daughter of Marten Martensson, Jr (the Martensson family is mine), and 7 unmarried children; Hans b. 1669, Nils, b. 1675, Olof b. 1677, Margaret b. 1679, Brigitta b. 1681, Anders bn. 168!
3, and Ambora b. 1696. I'm sure this is your family of Boons....all the above is from THE 1693 CENSUS OF THE SWEDES ON THE DELAWARE, by Craig, a really great book for anyone interested in the early Swedes!
