    The name is found in the 1729 marriage record for Nykulla Södergård. Most of the other data is unreadable or needs translation.

    The 1851 map is entitled "NykullaBy". "Ny" means "new" and "By" means village in Swedish. In Scandinavian terms, "kulla" is a group of buildings.
