Y. [p.35] Joshua Mersereau, Jr. (1758-1857), served as a spy and courier. He was captured by the British and imprisoned on the ?Scorpion? in New York Bay, 1783. He died in Tioga, Pa. Also No. 41118. Jonathan Lawrence (1703-89) furnished money and clothing to carry on the war. He was born in Groton; died in Littleton, Mass. Job Colman (1741-1805) was a minute man at the Lexington Alarm and served in the Burgoyne campaign. He was born in Ipswich; died in Heath, Mass. Also No. 21470. Levi Redfield (1745-1838) served as a private in the Connecticut militia under Capt. Aaron Stevens, 1776, and, 1781, served as drum major. He was born in Killingworth, Conn.; died in Brainbridge, N. Y. Also No. 44858. Thomas Bradford (1714-94) entered the service, 1778, in Capt. Moses Branch's company, Col. Obadiah Johnson's regiment, Connecticut troops. He was born and died in Canterbury, Conn. Gideon Butts (1758-1830) served as a private in Capt. Sheribiah Butt's company, 1776, Connecticut militia. He was born in Canterbury, Conn.; died in Rome, N. Y. Also No. 44545. Harmonus Garrison (1732-1813) served as quartermaster in the Richmond County, New York militia, 1776. He was born and died on Staten Island, N. Y.
