Amy was born ca 1765/1774. That is based on two census entries. In 1800 she was age 26-44 or born a 1755/1774. In 1810 she was in that same age group, or born ca 1765/1784. Combining the two you get ca 1765/1774. The 1820 census entries shows the same age group for Mrs. McKinney, or born ca 1775/1794. This may be a new wife for William McKinney. Other researchers show Amy's birth date as 21 Jun 1764. What is the source for that?

Amy Dugger married William McKinney in 1783 in Franklin Co., NC. I don't know who her parents were. Her son William H. McKinley (1798) married Elizabeth Dugger in 1817 Rutherford Co., NC. Elizabeth was a daughter of Benjamin Dugger. Perhaps Amy was a younger sister of Benjamin's, or a niece more likely.

It is possible that Amy is a child of John Dugger (c1741-c1810) who lived in Granville Co., NC in the 1760's through 1780's. That is next door to Franklin County where Amy married in 1783.
