Amos Springer Dies; Rites To Be On Friday

Amos Springer, 64, died at the Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City Dec. 17 at 10:15 am, where he had been a patient five days.

Mr. Springer was born to the late William and Della Springer Feb. 2, 1893, and spent his entire life on a farm five and one half miles north of Nashua.

On November 4, 1930, he was united in marriage to Helen Marovets of Ionia. To this union seven children were born: Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) Mohring of Ionia; Mrs. Ervin (Madonna) Mohring of Charles City; Gordon Springer of Ionia; Mrs. Clayton (Doris) Martin of Long Beach, Cal.; Darlene, Lorraine and Beverly Springer, at home.

He had been previously married to Maude Guyer, who passed away in 1928 and to this union eight children were born: Leonard and Marie of Minnesota; Lyle of California; Junior of Oregon; Darold of Cedar Rapids, and Gale and Bernard, deceased, and Dewaine who died in infancy. Also surviving him are five sisters: Mrs. Myrtle Osterman, Mrs. Maude Kielsmeier, Mrs. Clara Gardner, Mrs. Ida LaBounty, and Mrs. Henry Caruth, all of Charles City, and Mrs. Gerty Falls of California and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roy and Bert.

Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception church in Charles City at 9 am Friday.

Chenoweth & Son are in charge of services. The Rosary will be said at the Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua at 8 o'clock Thursday night.
