From the Morris Family History by Hoy B. Morris---Amos Morris was born in Monongalia Co., (West) Virginia, about 1796. He married Millie Shane (originally Shinn). They made their home in Wetzel Co. (West) Virginia. Their children were: Anthony, George, Jonathan, Mary, Joseph, Samuel and Jacob. Jonathan resided on the home farm, Anthony moved to Roane Co., and rest of the family settled in Wood and Calhoun Counties, (West) Virginia. 1860 Census, Wetzel Co., WV. #515 MORRIS, Amos 65 b.
